Will Medicare pay for a stairlift?
Medicare does not presently cover stairlifts. Unfortunately, they do not consider stairlifts a medical necessity.

Will my stairlift work when the power is out?
All stairlifts that we sell are DC powered and will work up to 20 cycles (depending upon model). A cycle is 1 – up and 1- down.

How long does a stairlift take to install?
Approximately 1.5 – 2.5 hours for a straight stairlift.  3 1/2 to 5 hours for a custom curved unit.

Does Northcoast Mobiiity have stairlifts in stock?

Yes, we stock our most popular models for quick installation. If one of our stock stairlifts will work for you, we can typically have a stairlift installed in your home within 2 to 3 days.  If your require a specific model or specific options, it can take a week to 10 days to obtain the unit.

What is the delivery time for a custom curved stairlift?

Depending upon the model, typically between 4 and 6 weeks.

Does Northcoast Mobility rent stairlifts?

Due to the fact that stairlifts have to be cut and fit specifically for each staircase, we do not rent stairlifts.  We researched what a few companies that rent them charge and found the the cost to the customer very quickly reached the purchase price of a new unit.

Do your published prices include sales tax?

Our published prices do not include sales tax but if a doctor’s prescription is supplied, sales tax is not required.

Do stairlifts require a dedicated power source?

All our stairlifts require a regular A/C outlet to plug the battery charger into.  They come with enough wire to reach appoximately 20ft along your baseboards/wall so we typically have no problem finding a place to plug them in.  

Is an in-home evaluation required to get a quote for a Stairlift?

In most instances, we can give you an accurate quote for a straight stairlift right over the telephone. once you answer a few basic questions.  Custom curved lits are a bit more complicate and while we can give you an estimate, we can’t be completely accurate without an in-home evaluation.
