Will Medicare pay for a stairlift?
Medicare does not presently cover stairlifts. Unfortunately, they do not consider stairlifts a medical necessity.
Will my stairlift work when the power is out?
Acorn and Harmar DC powered stairlifts are equipped with their own power source and will work up to 20 – 60 cycles (depending upon model). A cycle is 1 – up and 1- down.
How long does a stairlift take to install?
Approximately 1.5 – 2.5 hours.
What is the warranty on the Acorn stairlift?
Your Acorn stairlift has a lifetime warranty on the motor and gearbox, lifetime warranty on the rail system, and one year warranty on all other components.
What is the warranty on the Harmar stairlift?
Your Harmar stairlift has a 3-Year warranty on components, 10-Year on gear rack, 1-Year on batteries.
Can I take my stairlift with me if I move from my current home?
Yes, Northcoast Mobility can very easily remove and reinstall the Acorn stairlift at your new home at a reasonable fee!
